I’ve come to believe that everything comes down to feeling safe and seen. Not fixed, not optimised, not performing and definitely not perfect. Just safe in your body, and honest about your mind: whose beliefs are these, whose values, is this dream even yours, or borrowed from a patriarchal, capitalist script? What actually lights you up?

And it's okay not to know. Try things on, take them off again. We're allowed to explore, shift, change, experiment without fear or judgement. Nothing's final just because you tried it on. We’re not meant to be perfect and have it all figured out.

Sometimes the most powerful influence is simply someone beside us who makes it feel safe to be exactly who we are, fears, shame, judgement and all. You're okay, and you're seen, and you deserve to feel it. Maybe this community gets you there. Maybe I can support you on the way

I've tried on a lot of systems over the years, and I’ve taken my fair share off. For now, I've come to rest with three pillars that have stood the test of time, tears, travel, heartaches and breakthroughs: writing and conversation, Human Design, and embodiment work that weaves yoga and somatics.

❋ writing workshops

Craving creativity? Connection? Conversation that challenges your ideas instead of confirming them?

Active participation and experience in writing are NOT required. Openness is, however, highly encouraged.

❋ HUman design readings

Human Design is a synthesis of astrology, I Ching, and Kabbalah.

iT’S an energetic, mechanical system that shows you how your aura operates in the world, how your energy is felt, and how you receive what's around you. Mostly, though, it's your personal how-to manual: how to make decisions, how to know what's actually correct for you versus what's conditioning, what your gifts are, and what you're here to master.

❋ Yoga meets embodied somatics

Creating a healthy relationship with your body is something most of us spend a lifetime battling, or working toward. For me, that's certainly been the case.

This is a space to move from intention, to be kind, to be accepting, to be loving.

I hope it's never pretty, or perfect, or aesthetically pleasing on purpose. But I do hope it helps you feel safe, connected, and empowered in your body and your movement.

always a student first, always learning and unlearning.

For years, yoga was my life. It was the first tool, the first system that actually made me feel better. It taught me how to stop holding my breath, stop clenching my belly, and how to manage my anger so I could stop moving through life like a hurricane.

*Still somewhat a hurricane. Just a more regulated one.

But somewhere along the way I lost the true essence of yoga. The same way a lot of the West has. It stopped being about the inner experience and turned into a performance instead of a practice, something to get, rather than something to be.

Teaching was always my greatest joy, but I came to see that the yoga I was teaching wasn't fully in service, even if that was my intention.

I'm still figuring out how to hold yoga with true integrity, still unlearning the version of it that's been whitewashed.

I still believe that the purpose of Yoga is to make you feel better, but it’s also, ultimately, to unify. As Susanna Barkataki encourages us to ask, “Is what I’m doing creating more separation or more unity?”

testimonials

  • "I am totally in love with the yoga classes that Shanie is giving. The combination between meditation, Hatha, Yin and Power yoga is amazing. Normally I always go for the spicy and active classes like Vinyasa and Power Yoga, but with Shanie I learned to focus more on my breath and enjoy these calm and relaxing sessions as well. After the class we always take time to have a lovely chat and read some affirmation cards. Afterwards I feel very loved, understood and relaxed. Her classes definitely changed my perspective and I am so ready for more! A big thanks to you, Shanie!"

  • "For me, Shanie's classes have everything! She challenges me with her postures for strength and flexibility, and I can gratefully sink into her lovely meditations for some grounding. This is a combination that is usually hard to find in a yoga practice, and Shanie completely nails it. She has a bubbly, sweet & friendly personality with a fierce spark. Alongside that, she has a ton of yoga knowledge and is extremely devoted to the practice. I've been practicing yoga quite consistently since 2009, and within 15 mins of Shanie's class I already learned something valuable about a posture that I hadn't heard before. Shanie will get the very best out of your practice for you and guides every student where necessary!"

  • “Shanie’s yoga classes are utterly transformative. Fun, dynamic and creative- she pours her heart into creating a one-of-a-kind space for her students to discover energies within and around us in ways not many teachers can. I cannot thank you enough for the doors you opened for me and the peace that’ll last a lifetime!!”

    Laura

  • “I have to share, I’m a physiotherapist, Yoga teacher and Shanie’s student. I learned from her so much about my own body and movement, I can say that I discovered again the magic of the human body through Shanie’s classes, and all of this with a great respect and attention to mental and emotional part of our being. I highly recommend her group and especially her private classes to people who love to move consciously and grow personally in all levels”

    Tamara

    Milda

  • "I have been following yoga four times a week via Zoom with Shanie. She taught me step by step to love myself and to be kind to my body and mind. Her lessons give me so much energy and strength, something that I didn't feel much before. She teaches so much more than just yoga. It's about trust, acceptance, love, warmth. It is a learning process, and I am very happy to be able to go through that with her. I definitely recommend her classes"

    Luna

  • “Shanie is a wonderful Yoga teacher, she delivers her classes with love and from the heart so you can’t help but walk away feeling amazing. I always look forward to Shanie’s classes and the knowledge she shares with us. Finding a yoga teacher who you really connect with is hard to find but Shanie makes this so easy with her authenticity and personal touches. I would recommend her classes to anyone”

    Shelly

  • "Shanie is a natural healer and support. Wrapping me up like a child she guided me through this work with true care. I genuinely feel a shift even just from the 4 short weeks of working with her, a shift into more peace and stillness and acceptance of this transition. I needed the nurturing Shanie provides effortlessly to enable me to have compassion for myself. I have never felt so happy to be in my own skin and I can honestly say Shanie is a big part of the reason why."

    Emma

  • "Shanie is patient, kind, observant and is immediately your biggest advocate. She is routing for you and believing in you before you even begin She listens carefully, tunes in and really considers how best to support you to meet your needs. I feel I am reconnecting with the "old me" and this is all down to the work with Shanie! Shanie's love, aura and general enthusiasm (as well as knowledge) is infectious is what really makes her stand out. She helps you to start the work from wherever your starting point is. My expectations were by far surpassed and I gained so much from this program. I wanted to begin to align, and really feel I am now on my journey and I only have Shanie to thank for that! Thank you so much for everything. You really have changed my life and I am (and will be) eternally grateful"

    Lisa

  • "My sessions with Shanie were amazing, they brought me so much peace and clarity. Already in the first session I was blown away; we analysed my chart and I've never felt more understood. It gave me a lot of insight into myself and my emotions. Besides working with Human Design, we also tackled daily life problems. Shanie was always there for me by listening to me and supporting me on how to handle difficult situations. Shanie really encouraged me to find the answers myself and to respond from my soul and heart. She's an amazing and loving human and will make you grow beautifully in every way." Note: "routing for you" in Lisa's testimonial looks like it should be "rooting for you" — worth fixing if you're using it verbatim on your site.
